Just days ahead of CES 2018, Dell has launched an upgraded version of its XPS 13 notebook. The laptop now has a new design and the company claims to have worked hard to make sure the device doesn’t catch stains over time.
The company has used glass fibre materials to keep the notebook cool for a longer period. It sports a 13-inch InfinityEdge display that fits in an 11-inch frame, and supports 4K Ultra HD. The front camera is also placed near the keyboard.
The laptop is powered by a quad-core 8th generation Intel Core processor with 1TB SSDs and a battery backup of up to 20 hours on full HD, Dell claims. However, the battery goes down to 11 hours when 4K Ultra mode is active.
The company claims that the laptop delivers twice as much performance when compared with the 2015 variant. The device is available for a price of $999 (approximately Rs 64,000), starting January 4, for the US market.
It also comes with optional components such as fingerprint reader for which the consumers will have to shell out more money. Dell is also selling a developer edition of the laptop with Ubuntu priced at $950 (approximately Rs 61,000). The company is yet to announce the pricing and availability for the Indian market. We’ll know more about the device when the company unveils it at CES 2018.
